ReplyDeleteHis voice is like a favorite pair of blue jeans; threadbare at the knees, grass-stained. . . you can tell there are years of work behind them. His sweet, gravelly sound is as comforting as a crocheted afghan and is refreshingly honest in a sea of reverb and digitally-altered perfection. In that performance, he brought a touch of old-time bluegrass to a "new country" crowd, and I LOVED IT.
